HALF-TERM: WORLD WAR 2 DAY
Find plenty of fun at the museum this half-term, starting with our WW2 day on Tuesday 18 February.
Join us on Tuesday 18 February to find out more about life during World War 2. Try your hand at Morse Code and the Codebreaker Challenge, will you impress Mrs Taylor our WW2 recruiter?
Listen to Albert tell his stories of life as a Civil Defence volunteer and what happened in York in April 1942.
There's a chance to get creative with local artists, Mary and Sydnie, in our Make Do and Mend zone.
Object Handling HQ will be there too, so you can get hands on with some historic objects. No need to book, drop in between 10am and 4pm.
The Codebreaker Challenge will also be running on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 February 10am-3pm.
Object Handling HQ will be open 10-12noon and 2pm-4pm from Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 February.
You can also follow our Sword Trail around the museum all week, collect a copy from the Reception desk. Our Sword Trail is part of the Jorvik Viking Festival Fringe, so if you show a Jorvik ticket at reception you can visit the museum for free until Saturday 22 February.
